++++About the Renaissance Edition ~~

Renaissance Edition (R/E)
The Renaissance Edition is a special reserve edition created with a textured brushstroke process that recreates the artist's actual brushwork. It is then finished in oil by a master highlighter who applies a special "Remarque" to the back of the canvas. (This is a sketch)Each unique canvas is created under the artist's close supervision. Upon satisfactory completion, the artist hand signs the front of the canvas and a foil stamped gold Renaissance Edition seal is applied to the back. Each Renaissance Edition is designated by the letter R/E after the print number.

Renaissance Editions are limited to not more than (usually less) 8% of the Standard Numbered edition. The R/E is TEXTURED to match every brush stroke of Tom's original. Individually hand highlighted by Thom's Master Apprentice under his direct supervision. R/E's are 3 times the Standard Numbered price. Additional Hand Signature by Thomas Kinkade on front of canvas.

+++++ And this is what Thomas Kinkade said about this work +++++
"I'm a great believer in the importance of first impressions. That's one reason why Boulevard Lights, Paris is so dear to me; it's the first print in my new City Impressions collection.

The City of Lights has been a springboard to my imagination even before the first of my many visits there. You see, my mother had a print on her wall an energetic, dazzlingly lit Paris as seen by a 19th century street painter that captivated me as a child. So it seemed natural to launch my first Impressionistic series by honoring the art of such giants as Beraud, Cortes, Galien-LaLoue, with a celebration of the city that has inspired master artists of every era.

I have enjoyed such a bustling vision of light and color in one of my journeys to Paris I just couldn't tell you exactly where or when. Because of this, Boulevard Lights, Paris exists for me in that ethereal world between experience and imagination that we call memory. And perhaps that is just as well. Because somewhere in the heart of everyone who daydreams is an imaginary memory of Paris."

Kinkade Trivia
Did you know.....

~~~Thomas Kinkade has paintned a huge amount of Plein Air paintings. "Plein Air" a French term meaning literally "open air", refers to a style of Impressionistic painting that is created outdoors at a portable easel.
~~~The artist captures his surroundings at a given moment in time, before the specific lighting and mood of the moment slips away. Plein Air paintings attempt to render the full impact of this light on color, no matter the altered state, rather than adjust the hues to appear more "typical." A Plein air is done on the spot at the moment and is not "doctored" or altered later in the Artist's Studio.

~~~The Impressionist movement began in France in 1860. Contrary to most European art movements, there was no political or social event that sparked the movement nor did the works portray controversial subjects. Instead, the paintings simply strayed from the typical "realist" view of that era and creatively experimented with subjects drenched in the many colors of sunlight.
~~~This movement was led by such artists as Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, and Eduoard Manet. These were the first artists to venture outdoors to paint Plein Air and capture the light firsthand.

~~~Thomas Kinkade created several Plein Airs under the name of "Robert Girrard" He outed himself as Robert Girrard through a statement released by Media Arts Group early in 2002.
